The dance rivalry between two of Media General’s finest is one ‘beef’ that has been cooking for some time now.
After days, weeks, and even months of bragging, Giovani Caleb and Johnnie Hughes decided to settle the rivalry once and for all with a face-off.
The hosts of the 3FM Drive on 3FM and Showbiz 360 on TV3 and TV3 New Day, Giovani Caleb and Johnnie Hughes respectively, chose no other day than April 29, marked globally as International Dance Day, to settle the ‘beef’.
International Dance Day is a global celebration of dance, created by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute (ITI), the main partner for the performing arts of UNESCO.
The event takes place every year on April 29, which is the anniversary of the birth of Jean-Georges Noverre (1727–1810), the creator of modern ballet.
The day tends to encourage participation and education in dance through events and festivals held on the date all over the world.
The two top-notch presenters – same cannot be said about their dancing – took turns to show off skills they believed would win them the title as the better dancer among the two.
Listeners then decided their fate through votes on social media, messages, and calls.
After more than an hour of campaigning for votes, Giovani Caleb strangely emerged the winner with 59 votes while Johnnie Hughes had 58 votes.
