GhPL: Aduana extend lead with 1-0 WAFA win

Aduana Stars have extended their lead at the summit of the Ghana Premier League after a 1-0 home win over close contenders WAFA midweek.

The two title chasers locked horns at the Agyeman Badu Park in Dormaa on Match Day 27.

Derrick Sasraku’s header was enough to give the Ogya boys all three points, taking their total points build-up to 51.

West African Football Academy, WAFA, still keep their second position, nonetheless, following Hearts of Oak’s 1-2 loss at Wa All Stars.

The Phobians would have gone second with a win.

However, a David Abagna second half penalty proved decisive for the champions.

Great Olympics also revived their hopes of surviving relegation after a 4-2 thumping win over Bolgatanga All Stars at home.

Ebusua Dwarfs were also 3-1 winners over International Allies while their regional rivals Elmina Sharks went to Tema Youth to win 2-nil.

Berekum Chelsea also beat Bechem United 2-0.

Matches involving Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC – who played in the FA Cup semi-final – have been rescheduled for Thursday, October 5.

Kotoko will play Ashanti Gold SC while Medeama will engage Liberty Professionals.
