Africa’s largest film festival, the 27th edition of the Pan-African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (Fespaco), features two Ghanaian films by SelormSketchBook at Palais des Sports complex in Ouaga, Burkina Faso.
‘The Underestimated Villian’ and ‘The Legends of Bababongo’ by @selormsketchbook is among the 239 films selected out of 1,132 entries shortlisted from 50 countries.
The grand prize winner will be picked by an international jury headed by Mauritanian filmmaker Abderrahmane Sissako, who won France’s coveted César for best film in 2015 with Timbuktu.
Fespaco is an internationally recognised festival, which started in 1969 to gather enthusiasts to celebrate films produced in Africa by Africans. This year’s event runs from 16 to 23 October at Palais des Sports complex in Ouaga.
