President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe is chasing Tilapia, Ghana’s fast rising cartoonist, for illustrating him and the Minister of Communication, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful in a boxing ring over the controversial Kelni GVG deal.
In the height of the row between Mr. Cudjoe and the Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful over the Kelni GVG deal which IMANI claims smacks of corruption, Tilapia released one of his masterpieces in which he craftily illustrated the two in a bout.
The simple but fine art exhibited the telecom companies and Kelni GVG serving as trainers for IMANI and Mrs. Ekuful respectively in the bout.
The artwork, has since June 5 when it was published on 3news.com, gone viral on social media, and wowed Mr. Cudjoe due to the deep thought it communicates despite its simplicity.
Mr. Cudjoe who appeared on 3FM Sunrise morning show Monday to discuss issues regarding the deal could not help but to give plaudits to Tilapia for what he described as beautiful art, and asked for his whereabouts to offer him breakfast.
“Where is the cartoonist anyway? I need to give him money for koko (porridge) this morning. That was a beautiful art! I do not know if people realized it,” Franklin Cudjoe said.
From his point of view, Tilapia, who has become a household name for his insightful illustrations of issues from a humorous perspective, aptly captured the row between himself and the minister.
“Kelni was hiding; you couldn’t see the face of KelniGVG. You could see my face but he even darkened KelniGVG and the minister’s face, and that was a beautiful piece of art,” he said.
