Four persons arrested for robbing traders of cash, other items at gunpoint

Insert: the gun and cartridges retrieved from one of them[/caption] Four persons who robbed some traders at gunpoint at a section of the Breblesua-Kotoso bush road in the Eastern Region have been arrested by the Police at Mpraeso. The suspects allegedly attacked some motor and tricycle riders who mostly ply the road on market days and made away with monies, mobile phones and personal belongings. One of the victims who managed to identify one of the suspects in during the robbery operation that happened at about 3:00am Tuesday was severly beaten and currently on admission at Kotoso Health Centre, the Police told 3News. According to the police, the assembly member for the Pitiku Electoral Area at about 10:30am Tuesday called the Kwahu Tafo Police station on phone to inform them about the incident. The Police quickly began investigations and on Wednesday at about 2:00am, they managed to arrest the four suspects. Their names were given as Eric Ansong Yeboah, 38 years;  Kwadwo Afriyie,  29;  Kofi Amoakoh, 40 and Owiredu Ansong 33. One other suspect the police named as Bright Asare managed to escape arrest. “A search in the room of suspect Afriyie revealed one single barrel shotgun and six  live cartridges.
