A leading member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) Kwame Jantuah has said the Founders’ Day debate is dividing Ghanaians.

There are some who believe Ghana was founded by one person, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, others also think otherwise, they believe it was founded by a group of Ghanaians especially other members of the Big Six.

On Thursday August 4, Ghanaians celebrated the Founders’ Day occasion.

But speaking on the New Day show with Johnnie Hughes on TV3 Friday August 5, Mr Jantuah who is also a private legal practitioner said “This Founders’ Day or Founder’s Day debate is dividing us which shouldn’t be. We must all come under one umbrella.

“If you want, create a heroes park and put all the heroes you think deserve to be celebrated there. I have nothing against trying as much as possible to show others who contributed to Ghana honour.”

Meanwhile, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has used the Founders’ Day occasion to assure Ghanaians that the government will revive the economy.

“I am confident that we will revive and revitalise the economy and put our nation back on the path of rapid economic growth,” President Akufo-Addo said.
