‘Fit and well’ Jordan Ayew available for Newcastle game

The Swansea attacker scratched himself from Kwesi Appiah’s team to Brazzaville, Congo. Despite a number of senior players missing the game, Ghana thrashed Congo 5-1 with Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey scoring a hat-trick. Jordan Ayew missed that game due to a “stomach upset” and pictures of him on a hospital bed made rounds on social media. But at a press meeting on Thursday, Swansea manager Paul Clement said: “Jordan is fit and well after he missed a game through illness and some worrying pictures emerged of him in a hospital bed”. The Englishman said the former Olympique Marseille player trained on his own on Wednesday “and was in full training today”. “I believe he was in hospital, but it was just a precautionary measure and he is now okay.” Jordan is expected to feature in Swansea’s English Premier League home game against Newcastle United on Sunday. He opened his season’s scoring account in the Jack Army’s 2-0 win at Crystal Palace. By Emmanuel Kwame Amoh|3news.com|Ghana ]]>
