Fire kills 3-year-old girl at Offinso

Fire has razed down a five-bedroom house at Nkenkensu in the Offinso North District in the Ashanti Region on Monday, August 17.

A three-year-old girl lost her life in the inferno.

The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) said the young girl was burnt beyond recognition.

The Offinso North District Director of NADMO, Mamoah Elijah, told journalists that properties worth thousands of Cedis were destroyed by the fire.

“We had returned from an accident scene when I was called that a fire outbreak had occurred,” he said.

“Per our initial assessment, we have not yet established the cause of the fire but investigations have commenced. But I must say many properties have been destroyed as a result of the blaze.

“So the assurance is that we are arranging a haven for the affected victims,” the NADMO boss further added.
