Finance Ministry sets up dedicated office to address tax issues

The Ministry of Finance has set up an office “to offer opportunity to the general public to seek redress and offer information that could lead to the prevention of loss of revenue or the retrieval of revenues from tax evaders”. The office, which will have dedicated officers, will be referred to as Solutions Service Unit. This was contained in a statement released on Thursday, April 20. “The Unit is to provide an additional channel for taxpayers to report their complaints and receive timely feedback and fair treatment.” The Unit will be located within the new block of the Ministry in Accra. This follows a resolve by sector minister Ken Ofori-Atta to plug all crevices within the tax revenue arena.
