WAPCo says Wednesday heavy rains and wind shutdown its Tema Regulating & Metering station

The West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited (WAPCo) has announced that its Regulating and Metering Station in Tema has automatically shut down following heavy rains and winds on Wednesday, May 22.

Severe winds that accompanied this morning’s rains triggered the system’s automatic
shutdown mechanism, causing the entire system to shut down, the company said.

As a result, WAPCo says it is unable to deliver gas to customers in Tema.

“Our Engineers are waiting for the storm to subside when it will then be safe to fix the problem,” a statement said.

It added, “WAPCo sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused.”
