North Tongu Legislator, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has refuted Bryan Acheampong’s claim the he has no document to reflect Rock City Hotel’s loss-making.
Mr. Ablakwa had earlier claimed that he had intercepted document which indicates that Rock City Hotel belonging to Bryan Acheampong is running at a loss and hence unfit to buy the lucrative and profit-making SSNIT hotels.
Among other things, the lawmaker alleged that Rock City hotel did not file its tax returns for the year 2022.
However, Bryan Acheampong told Onua FM’s Nana Yaa Brefo in Parliament that Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa was only exaggerating and had not intercepted any documents.
He denied that his company was running at a loss and dared Ablakwa to come forward with any document he had intercepted.
“If he indeed has documents that prove that Rock City Hotel filed its 2023 taxes and we are making losses, let him bring it,” Acheampong declared.
“If it’s true, I have a house at Trassaco, it’s new and unused. I bought it in 2014, and I will gift it to him, and if he wants to also gift it to an NGO, on his orders, I’ll make that happen, all Ghanaians be my witness.” he said to Nana Yaa Brefo, host of Yen Nsempa on Onua FM.
Speaking in an interview on The Keypoints on Saturday, June 22, Mr. Ablakwa dismissed Bryan Acheampong’s assertions.
He insisted that he has documents to reflect his claim, explaining that as a lawmaker he cannot speak empty without evidence.
He noted that Bryan Acheampong has no clue about what is happening.
To confirm his stance, Mr. Ablakwa shared the document with host of The Keypoint, Alfred Ocansey.
“I can prove to Bryan Acheampong that he clearly does not know what he is talking about. If he has been following our work in Parliament, he should have known we don’t speak to what we don’t have. We mean it if we say we have intercepted document.
“When Ken Ofori-Atta told the whole country including the President that they are not using public funds to build the National Cathedral, I intercepted document from the Finance Ministry instructing CAGD to release funds to contractors who had not even gone on site,” he said.
