Fire destroys parts of Youth Resource Centre in Navrongo

Fire has destroyed parts of the yet-to-be completed Youth Resource Centre in Navrongo in the Kassena-Nankana municipality of the Upper East Region.
Several glass windows, PVC pipes, seats, doors and electric poles are components of the huge sports facility caught in the Sunday morning inferno.
It took the intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service to douse what may have been a devastating fire.
The cause of the fire has yet to be confirmed, but gatekeepers at the facility suspect the fire engulfed the facility through a broken part of the fence wall.
Ngosiwine Gideon, the project manager, gave more details of the incident to editors.3news.com.
“So, it was Monday in the morning, around 10:20am thereabouts. Because it started from down there, we didn’t really get to know it quickly. it was later that I realised it was from down there. Initially we called the Fire Service, they came, they put off the fire. When they left, about an hour or 30 minutes later, it started again. That was when we called them, and they said their car got stuck so they couldn’t come. so we had to watch helplessly for the fire to burn,” he recalled.
