Ghanaian boxer Isaac ‘The Royal Storm’ Dogboe has debunked claims that he visited a fetish priest right before his fight against Emanuel Navarrete last May.

Dogboe won the WBO Super Bantamweight title in April, 2018 after beating Jessie Magdaleno in an 11th round knockout only to lose the title to Magdaleno’s compatriot Navarrete that same year after just one successful defence against Japanese, Hidenori Otake.

A rematch was also not successful.

Those two defeats exposed the relatively young boxer’s weakness in the sport with many other blaming it on different things; mainly supernatural.

A few days ago, Paul Dogboe, his father and manager, went on Joy FM for an interview on the matter where he made claims to the fact that his son’s losses in those two fight were caused by some sort of family in-fighting and consultation of a fetish priest.

In an Interview with 3news.com’s Yaw Ofosu Larbi, Dogboe debunked the claims made by his father and blamed the media for misconstruing his words.

“I feel that certain words were misconstrued and the interview was misinterpreted to a certain extent. I want to make this very clear. I have no association with any fetish priest. I have never consulted any fetish priest to help me win any fight. I have always credited my victories to God,” he said.

Dogboe also apologized to all his fans for what he called were inappropriate words and a general misunderstanding of what the truth is.
