Membership of the Roman Catholic Church of Ghana have been issued directives in the conduct of mass services as the threat of the deadly coronavirus rages on.

The Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference issued the directives after a meeting.

The bishops encouraged all members to receive the Holy Communion in their hand.

Ministers who give the communions are advised, accordingly, to wash their hands or use sanitizer before and after distributing holy communion.

“Avoid handshakes and embracing one another during Kiss of Peace,” a statement said.

So far, all suspected cases of the deadly disease have tested negative in Ghana.

The country has also heightened preparedness in case of an outbreak.
