Police in the Western Region have arrested a 21 year old man suspected to have sneaked into the private residence of the Western Regional Minister Kobby Okyere Darko Saturday dawn.
The suspect has been named by police as Peter Emmanuel Kumi.
He is reported to have entered the house of the regional minister around 4:30am on Saturday.
A 16 year old child of a family friend who had come on a visit spotted him jumped the wall and immediately raised an alarm that attracted the attention of the minister and the wife
The suspect who was naked and wielding a sharp metal weapon is reported to have taken a lady’s dress at the residence to wear, apparently to cover his nakedness according to an aide to the minister.
Police were called in by the minister and within 20 minutes they were at the scene.
The police had it tough overpowering the suspect who was strongly suspected to be on drugs.
The police really had it tough amidst the use of about four bottles of pepper spray to eventually overpower him.
He is now in the custody of the Harbour Police.
Mr Okyere Darko whose statement has already been taken was not harmed. He is well and has currently joined the Veep in his tour of the Region, 3news.com gathered.
The Harbour police confirmed the news to Connect FM’s morning show host Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson.
The police are currently conducting their investigations.
