Born William Edmond Davidson Amissah-Arthur on April 29, 1951, he started using the name Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, which was his ‘home name’, while in school at the University of Ghana.

He was an economist, academician, a politician and above all, a husband, for the 67 years he lived on this earth.
