Equatorial Guinea withdraw from Ghana friendly

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the friendly game with Equatorial Guinea has been called off .
This comes after Equatorial Guinea announced a withdrawal from the planned encounter following new travel restrictions in that country.
It was scheduled that the two countries were going to play in a friendly match in Turkey on Monday, October 12, 2020 as part of preparations ahead of the 2021 AFCON Qualifiers.
The GFA said in statement on Friday September 25 “The Equatorial Guinean Football Association informed the GFA of the latest decision late Thursday, citing new travel restrictions imposed in their country. Equatorial Guinea’s borders are closed, and flights are suspended due to new COVID-19 rules
“The GFA has immediately set in motion an alternative plan to secure another match for the team as the Coaches prepare for the upcoming AFCON qualifier against Sudan in November.”
