Prof. SKB Asante[/caption] Executive Director at the Centre for Regional Integration in Africa, Professor S.K.B Asante has underscored the critical role regional integration plays in fostering economic development of Ghana. Commenting on regional integration issues in Accra, Professor S.K.B Asante explained that effective ECOWAS integration demands participation of all key stakeholders in which the private and civil society organizations must fully participate in all major decision processes. He thus called for the support of civil and private sectors to participate in the integration process and urged the youth of West Africa to imbibe the attitude of integrating Africans through education. Mr. Asante encouraged the government to infuse the ideal and integration spirit among the youth. Over the years, Ghana has been an innovative platform for multi sector stakeholders to engage in the promotion of regional integration and key strategy for national development. As a result, the centre for regional integration in Africa seeks to build capacity in support of achieving regional integration among West African countries. The centre for regional integration in Africa in collaboration with African capacity foundation therefore seeks to facilitate the needed interface between policy makers and national stakeholders from private and civil sector to promote on integrating West Africa.
