The Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) has announced the continuation of its registration in senior high schools and prisons as well.
The Commission said this is to enable those who could not register the last time do so.
Despite an injunction against its move, the EC last Friday and Saturday mounted registration centres in some SHSs to register eligible students.
“The Commission will continue with the registration exercise at the senior high schools because it was unable to complete the exercise on the 10th and 11th of July due to the large number of applicants,” the EC said in a statement on Friday.
Eligible prison inmates across the country are also to take part in Saturday’s registration.
“The Commission urges all qualified persons in these institutions to cooperate with it to make the exercise successful.”
Meanwhile, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has reminded the public, particularly political party agents, who will be assigned to the schools not to use them as a place for partisan politicking while they comply strictly with the Covid-19 health and safety protocols.
