EC resumes lost voter ID cards replacement from August 8

The Electoral Commission will from Thursday August 8 resume replacement of lost ID voter ID cards in all its districts across the country.

Replacement of lost voter ID cards was temporarily suspended in May to enable the EC concentrate on the 2019 limited voters registration exercise conducted between June 24 and July 7.

A statement issued Wednesday by the chairperson of the Commission, Jean Mensa, said following the conclusion of the limited voters registration exercise, persons with lost ID cards can now apply for new one.

Applicants will be required to pay a replacement fee of five cedis in bankers draft in any GCB Bank and use the receipt to apply for a replacement at any of the EC district offices where the initial registration was done.
