The Eastern Regional Secretariat of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to launch its own manifesto out of the national manifesto for the 2020 elections.
Under the regional manifesto, every constituency and district would have its own manifesto.
The region has 33 constituencies and, currently, all the constituencies are printing their manifestos to trumpet the achievements of President Nana Addo Danakwa Akufo-Addo and his government in each of the constituencies in the Region.
The NPP holds 27 seats while the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) holds six constituencies.
Speaking on Onua FM’s Ghana Dadwene hosted by Nana Yaw Opare on Monday, the Regional First Vice Chairman of the party, Alhaji Umar Bodinga, said in Twi that the “region is coming out with its own manifesto”.
“Every consistency is coming out with its own manifesto and it will showcase what Nana Addo has done in all the sectors in each constituency.
“It’s under printing and by next week, it will be ready. It has been done already. It is at the printing state and it will cover all the project such as infrastructure, employment, health, agriculture, among others”.
He explained that the national manifesto by the NPP did not capture all the developmental projects because district chief executives (DCEs) could not send all the projects because they were many.
“The tracker did not capture all. It’s not like the Green Book [of the NDC] where the developmental projects were in arts,” he jabbed.
Alhaji Bodinga noted that “the Eastern Region will vote ‘aseda abatuo’ this year because it has seen massive developmental projects in roads, infrastructure, health, 1D1F.”
‘Aseda abatuo’ means ‘Thank You vote’.
“There is no single district in the Eastern that has not started the 1D1F.”
