The Police in the Eastern Region have launched a manhunt for a driver who abandoned a taxi carrying substances suspected to be Indian hemp at Kofigya in the Suhum Municipality.
Driver of the vehicle registered GS 2345-16, ignored a Police patrol team’s signal to stop Thursday at about 5:00am during snap checks, prompting the team to give him a chase.

A search conducted revealed five wrapped sacks of substances suspected to be Indian hemp.
The vehicle and the substances were then moved to Suhum Police Station for investigations to begin.
According to the police, efforts are being made to arrest the suspect who has not yet been identified.
