Global IT firm, Hashtag Consulting, has appointed former Special Aide to late President Rawlings, Dr Donald Agumenu as chairman of its board to oversee operations in sub-Saharan Africa.
In a press release signed by Vice President of Hashtag Consulting, Mr Shiv Iyer, Dr Agumenu’s appointment takes immediate effect.
The Ghanaian leadership and project management expert will sit on Hashtag Consulting’s global board as a representative for the ECOWAS region and sub-Saharan Africa.
Key responsibilities of Dr Agumenu, according to the release include “providing leadership and direction to Hashtag to develop key markets in West Africa as well as helping build a local talent base in Ghana and the regional market for capacity development.”
Dr Agumenu is also required to identify and lead strategic partners in developing and sustaining the digital economy as well as drive market leadership and business development.
“ I am sincerely grateful for this appointment, especially at the time where the digital economy across Africa has become an ecosystem for socio-economic development,” Dr Agumenu said.
According to him, the current digital transformation offers a lot of opportunities for businesses and the youth, assuring that, “I shall bring my years of leadership experience across various sectors in harnessing these opportunities to drive policy and create more jobs for our teeming youth across Ghana and Africa while improving business efficiency and e-governance.
“My leadership would help build strategic, corporate and operational capacity for public and private institutions to maximise profit and improve total quality management and efficiency across their value- chain,” Dr Agumenu added.
