The New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Candidate for Tamale Central Constituency, Dr Ibrahim Anyars, has launched one of his flagship programmes designed to spark out support for innovation in entrepreneurship for the constituents.
TamalePreneurShip (TPS) Fund, an initiative which will provide support for start-ups and businesses, will enable new businesses to emerge and help create more jobs in Tamale Central.
“Through my NGO, The Repairer Foundation, I have invested GH¢200,000 as seed money for the Fund,” Dr Anyars revealed at the launch.
“The seed money is the first step in raising support from partners, individuals, corporate bodies and organizations to the tune of GH¢1 million in few years.”
The event was chaired by Lawyer Amma Dwumah, CEO SIC Life Savings and Loans.
She was optimistic that the TPS Fund will stimulate private sector growth and also provide the constituents of Tamale Central a substitute to salaried employment.
The Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed, demonstrated his commitment by donating GH¢50,000 whereas the regional coordinators of NABCO also contributed GH¢10,000 to the TPS Fund.
The CEO of COTVET, Dr Fred Asamoah, who was the Guest Speaker for the event, encouraged the people to leverage on the opportunities to improve their entrepreneurial skills.
Present at the event was Dr Sulemana Alhassan Anamzoya, the CEO of the Northern Development Authority, Dr Sulemana Abdulai, a Development Specialist, Regional Coordinators of NABCO, Emmanuel Ansah Amprofi, the COO of Trotro Tractor, members of hairdressers a beautician association, Smock weaver’s association, People Living with Disability, market women, tailors and seamstresses, young graduates, youth groups, street sellers, NPP council of elders and many others.
With the established commitment to creating jobs for the youth, the NPP government, under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has subscribed to the goal of securing the future of youth through job creation.
