Danquah Institute gets new Executive Director

The Danquah Institute, a policy think tank, has appointed political researcher and policy analyst, Edward Kwaku Asomani as its new Executive Director.

A statement dated November 8, 2018 and signed by Acting Board Chairman of the Institute Gabby Asare Otchere- Darko said Mr. Asomani is expected to lead the Institute through effective leadership.

He is also expected to promote the Danquah-Dombo-Busia tradition while fostering responsible governance, as well as espousing the virtues of individual liberties and economic freedom.

With his background in research, Mr. Asomani would undertake important research and also focus on training the next generation of leaders in the country.

“Edward has a track record of rigorous research, informed intellectual discourse, and passionate debate which are key elements of the Danquah Institute,” the statement read.

His research interests include US foreign policy towards Africa, political economy of Africa, elections, and electoral democracy among others.

Mr. Asomani is an Alumnus of University of Oxford, University of Manchester,  Sheffield Hallam University, and the University of Ghana.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Asomani worked in various sectors of Health, Academia and Finance.

He was a member of the management team at Cambian Group, and Co-Director of UPJ Consultancy London where he oversaw the work of consultancy with the likes of Deloitte, Royal Bank of Scotland and Handelsbanken.

Mr. Asomani is said to be an ardent believer, and an advocate for individual freedoms and the rule of law.
