The National Democratic Congress (NDC) do not subscribe to any suggestions that the current voters’ register should be replaced, its General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has said.
Making a presentation at a stakeholders’ forum organised by the Electoral Commission of Ghana on the way forward regarding the register, Mr Asiedu Nketia said that what is appropriate to be done currently is an audit of the register.
He told the audience on Thursday, October 29 that arguments advanced by other parties especially the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that there are minors in the register used in 2012 does not hold as those minors qualify to vote in 2016.
According to him, that is a self-correction potential any credible register possesses.
He said the NPP are just on a wild goose chase with their suggestions.
NDC is the second political party after the NPP to make a presentation on Day 1 of the forum.
