CPP Executive must be sacked– Former Youth Organizer

Former Youth Organiser of the Convention People’s Party, Murtala Mohammed, says that the executive body of his former party must be sacked.

Mohammed, who was interdicted by the Party early this year, made this comment on TV 3’s late night news broadcast programme, News @ 10.

Currently a volunteer for the Progressive People’s Party, Mohammed claimed the executive must be blamed for making conditions difficult for youth organizers of the CPP to operate.

He says the bad treatment meted out to him by the executive body was the same handed his predecessor, James Kwabena Bomfeh a.k.a Kabila.

But Communications Director of CPP, Nii Armah Akomfrah, who was reached via phone, refused to recognize Murtala Mohammed as a former CPP Youth Leader claiming he failed to accomplish his tasks while at the helm.

“Murtala mohammed is not National Youth organizer of the CPP,” he stressed.

“We have a competent youth leader who is helping the Party in its campaigns ahead of the December elections. We wish Murtala well in all that he does in the future.”

But in a quick rebuttal, Murtala Mohammed alleged the CPP put a stooge in his former position as he claimed he beat him as well as Nii Armah Akomfrah in election.

He also alleged that his support for PPP’s Presidential Candidate, Papa Kwesi Nduom, for early congress while he was with the CPP contributed to the decision to interdict him.

“They thought I was a mole in their midst for Papa Kwesi Nduom,” he said.

“I only supported him on ‘Congress Now’ since the NDC and the NPP had held their congresses two years before the elections and a party in the stature of the CPP was still yet to declare a date for congress.”

He thus called for the sacking of the entire members of the executive body by the Council of Elders.
