CPP appoints Kabila as Acting Gen. Secretary

The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has been appointed James Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly known as Kabila, as its Acting General Secretary. His appointment follows a unanimous decision at a Central Committee meeting held on Wednesday, October 24. The position of the General Secretary of the party has been vacant since a former Acting General Secretary, Eric Asani Tano, was suspended in 2017. Mr. Tano was suspended for supporting another candidate instead of supporting CPP candidates during the 2016 general election. Coincidentally, he succeeded another suspended General Secretary of the party, Nii Armah Akomfrah, who was elected to a substantive position by congress. He has since been in court to have that Central Committee decision reversed. Accepting his new post, James Kwamena Bomfeh pledged his commitment to serve the party in all honesty. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Bomfeh was the party’s Director of Elections. JB Daniels will assist Mr. Bomfeh as Deputy General Secretary. Source: 3news.com|Ghana  ]]>
