Corrupt judges hearing: Anas shows up at committee

Award-winning investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, will in few minutes appear before the Judicial Council disciplinary committee investigating the 22 judges implicated in the alleged scandalous judicial corruption.

Mr. Anas and his team from the Tiger Eye PI will be escorted by a tight security to the Judicial Service Headquarters in Accra where lawyers for the judges will grill them, has confirmed.

Typical of him, Anas is expected to disguise himself but will be required to unmask and show his face during the hearing by the five-member committee.

In the latest investigative piece by Anas yet to premier in Accra, 34 judges at the country’s High Courts, the Circuit and District courts were captured on camera taking bribes from litigants whose cases come before them.

The three-hour edited video, which is the result of a two-year painstaking investigation into the judiciary by Anas and his team, also exposes some of the judges in a sex scandal.

Already, the disciplinary committee has suspended the 22 lower court judges whose cases are being looked into to establish a prima facie case against them.
