COP Kofi Boakye moved to national hdqtrs in latest police shake-up

COP Kofi Boakye had headed Operations at the Service before moving into regional commanding[/caption] Ashanti Regional Police Commander COP Nathan Kofi Boakye has been appointed the Director General in charge of Research and Planning of the Ghana Police Service. His position has been taken over by DCOP Isaac Ken Yeboah, who was head of the Northern Regional Police Command. These are part of the latest shake-up within the police administration “to ensure effective management and operational control of the Service”. The changes take immediate effect, according to a release sighted by COP Boakye, a former director in charge of operations, replaces COP Rose Bio Atinga, who is heading to the Technical Directorate. Director General of Services COP James Oppong-Boanuh will be Director General for Administration. His place will be taken over by COP Frank Adu-Poku, who was in charge of Technical. The new Director General for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) will be Dr George Akuffo Dampare, who until his latest appointment was the Commandant at the Ghana Police Command and Staff College. COP Ransford Moses Ninson will head the Welfare Directorate from Administration. Western Regional Commander DCOP Yaagy Akuribah will now be Director General of National Patrol and Visibility. Brong Ahafo Regional Commander DCOP Maxwell Sakipaso Atingane will be the Director General of the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD). Upper East Regional Commander DCOP Simon Yaw Afeku will head the Police Intelligence and Professional Standards (PIPS). Tema Regional Commander DCOP Paul Manly Awini will be Director General for Private Security Operations while Accra Regional Command ACP Timothy Yoosa Bonga moves to head the Inspection Unit.
