Chelsea legend Michael Essien announced as new FIFA 20 Ultimate Team Icon

With the release date of EA SPORTS’ FIFA 20 now just weeks away, a brand new Ultimate Team Icon has been revealed – and it’s a Chelsea legend. Ahead of the release of FIFA 20, there have been some major improvements announced to some of the game’s most popular game modes, including Ultimate Team, Career Mode, Pro Clubs and a brand new game mode in VOLTA Football, which could make the game even better than FIFA 19. There have been a number of new Ultimate Team Icons announced ahead of FIFA 20’s release, including Zinedine Zidane, Andrea Pirlo, Didier Drogba, Ian Wright, John Barnes, Ian Rush, Ronald Koeman and more. But, there’s a brand new Ultimate Team Icon that has been revealed today and it’s yet another former Chelsea player. That’s right Chelsea fans, Michael Essien will be joining the class of FUT 20 as a playable Icon in the game. The Ghanaian midfielder made 168 appearances for the Blues, scoring 17 goals and winning nine major trophies, including the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup. None of Essien’s in-game stats have been revealed yet, but he is guaranteed to have some incredible attributes and will be a great midfielder to have in your team. The former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Lyon midfielder will be a great addition to FIFA 20 Ultimate Team. FIFA 20 – EA Early Access The earliest you can play FIFA 20 when buying a physical or digital copy of the game is 24th September 2019, if you buy either the Champions or Ultimate Edition. However, there is a way that you can play FIFA 20 from 19th September 2019, using EA Early Access. EA Early Access is available on Playstation and Xbox, allowing you to play early trials of a number of the most popular games. So, by signing up for EA Early Access, you’ll be able to play FIFA 20 from 19th September 2019. But, as it’s only classed as a trial, you will be restricted to eight hours of gameplay between the 19th September and the 24th September.
