Chairman Wontumi

Ghanaian businessman and politician Chairman Wontumi has made an offer to buy Chelsea from Roman Abramovich.

Real name Bernard Antwi Boasiako on Tuesday submitted a $3.1billion bid to takeover the reigning European and world champions.

Wontumi, who is New Patriotic Party’s Ashanti regional chairman declared his audacious intention to buy the Blues on his radio Wontumi FM on Tuesday.

“I want to go and buy Chelsea Football Club. I am interested in it,” he said.

“Those who buy clubs are not footballers, but business people.

“I am also a businessman.  I’m into gold mining. Why can’t we buy the club?

“I want to join the bidding.

“If I become the owner, I want the Brazilian player at Real Madrid, Vinicius Jr – and to sell off Romelu Lukaku.

“I will speak with Manchester United to see if I can also buy Cristiano Ronaldo for Chelsea.

“I’d also look at signing Lionel Messi.

“Roman Abramovich has done his best. It is now time for him to support a Ghanaian or an African to buy Chelsea.”

This is how Chelsea could line up if Boasiako has his way at Stamford Bridge

Current owner Roman Abramovich put the club up for sale in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The Russian billionaire is asking £3billion.
