Cameroon go for Song as head coach

The Cameroonian Football Federation, FECAFOOT, has confirmed former Indomitable Lions captain Rigobert Song as head coach.

Song replaces Portuguese manager Antonio Conceicao, who took the Lions to Bronze at the just ended Africa Cup of Nations.

He will be assisted by former teammate Augustine Simo while Raymond Kalla has been appointed as Team Manager.

In a press release on Monday, February 28, FECAFOOT said the appointment was by the instruction of President Paul Biya.

Song’s immediate assignment is to guide the Lions to qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Cameroon face off with Algeria for a place in the finals.
