ADB explains renewal of $750,000 contract

The Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) has addressed recent media reports regarding the renewal of a $750,000 contract in December 2024.

The Bank’s Board of Directors issued a statement clarifying that the renewal process adhered to established regulations and was essential for maintaining critical services.

The Board further emphasized its commitment to professionalism and acting within its authority. The statement assures stakeholders, including customers, shareholders, and the public, that the decision followed proper procedures.

ADB highlighted the dual oversight by the Bank of Ghana and the Securities and Exchange Commission, ensuring the Board’s adherence to regulations.

The Board also explained that contract renewals are necessary to guarantee the uninterrupted provision of critical services for the bank’s operations. They further stressed that each renewal was carefully evaluated and approved within the Board’s mandate and aligned with the bank’s objectives.

The statement clarified that the Board’s responsibility doesn’t cease during political transitions. They maintain their commitment to effective corporate governance and ensuring the bank’s safe and continuous operation.
