Ghana’s Black Stars B suffered a 2-1 loss to Uzbekistan in an international friendly match played at Markaziy Stadium in Namangan on Friday.
Uzbekistan opened the scoring through Otabek Shukurov with a powerful strike which went past Joseph Addo in the first half after a dominant start by the host.
Ibrahim Tanko’s men came back stronger in the second half.
U-20 AFCON star, Fatawu Ishahaku converted from a freekick to hand Ghana the equalizer in the 72nd minute.
Minutes after Ghana’s equalizer, Jaloliddin Masharipov capitalized on a poor defending by the Ghanaian defenders to put Uzbekistan back into the lead.
The game was used as preparation for the 2021 WAFU Cup of Nations in Nigeria and the upcoming CHAN qualifiers.
