A group calling itself Action Patriots for Justice (APJ) is convinced former President John Dramani Mahama is no competition for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, when it comes to debating on national issues, noting: “Dr Bawumia continues to be a nightmare and albatross on the neck of the NDC”.
Making reference to a recent challenge the Vice President threw to the NDC to show a single social intervention programme they instituted when they were in office, the group said that was a “simple challenge” John Mahama could not stand.
The group claims “instead of debating Bawumia intellectually on the issues [John Mahama] has been raising, the NDC have, as usual, resorted to insults and villification on the person of the Vice President.”
The group has, therefore, urged Ghanaians to continue supporting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to develop the country.
According to the members, the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) government under the leadership of John Mahama left behind a “huge catastrophic deterioration of the economy” which the Akufo-Addo government is trying to fix.
In a press statement, the group opined that the NPP is the only party that has initiated concrete social interventions to reduce the hardships of citizens in the Fourth Republic, citing intervention programmes by former president John Aygekum Kufuor and that of the current Akufo-Addo’s administration.
The group also believes that Vice President Dr.Mahamudu Bawumia is the Achille’s heels of the NDC and John Mahama even in opposition and will continue to be.
APJ has, however, admitted that things are hard but “but frantic effort is being taken by the Nana Addo-Bawumia government to bring the situation under control and very soon Ghanaians will see and feel the change we voted for”.
