Bawumia tells Commonwealth Judges to embrace digitalization to boost justice delivery

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has opened the 19th Triennial Conference of the Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges Association (CMJA) in Accra on Monday September 5.

The CMJA Conference, which brings together Chief Justices, Judges, Magistrates and judicial officers from Commonwealth Nations, has, in its five-decade history, helped to promote independence of the judiciary and improvements to legal administration in member countries, the Vice President said.

In a contemporary world where digital innovations are making things and life easier, he urged the CMJA to embrace the power of digital tools and innovations to boost access to justice, as well as enhance judicial systems.

“I also shared with them, the story of how Ghana has already started digitising its judicial process, and reiterated our Government’s commitment to it, to ensure easy and convenient access to justice in our country,” Dr said in a Facebook post after opening the event.
