Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has left Accra for the Islamic holy city of Mecca, where he is to perform the Islamic pillar of Hajj.

He left on Saturday, September 12, a statement from his office said.

Signed by Kwabena Boadu, his press secretary, the statement on Sunday said Dr Bawumia was in the company of his wife, Samira.
