Bawumia is a man with unblemished character, unlike somebody – Deputy Sports Minister

Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Evans Opoku Bobie, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Asunafo North Constituency, says Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has demonstrated remarkable character as Vice President of the Republic, unlike others, who were accused of corruption in the same role.

In a thinly-veiled dig at former President John Mahama, the Deputy Minister said after nearly seven years in office as Vice President, Dr. Bawumia has never been accused of corruption or any underhand dealing as Vice President, to require an investigation.

“Vice President Bawumia is a man of unblemished character. As Vice President, he has never involved himself in any corrupt deal or scandal,” Evans Opoku Bobie said, during the Vice President’s visit to Asunafo North on Monday, September 18.

“I repeat, Dr. Bawumia is not corrupt, he is unblemished, unlike somebody. He has not cut any deal in any Airbus to warrant an investigation. He is clean.”

On the NPP flagbearership contest, the Deputy Sports Minister was unequivocal in his declaration of support for the Vice President.

“Dr. Bawumia is the best man to lead the NPP for victory in 2024 because he has all the qualities required of a winning candidate. He has good character, he is knowledgeable, he is honest, he is a visionary, he is humble, and he is hardworking.

“These are qualities of a good leader and Dr. Bawumia has it all. As I mentioned earlier, he has an unblemished character and the positive impacts of his good works are visible for all to see,” he added.

Vice President Bawumia, who won over two-thirds of the votes in last month’s Special Delegates Conference, has intensified his interactions with the party’s delegates at the constituency level.

He started a tour of the Ahafo Region on Monday, after completing Volta Region on Sunday.

  1. Help vote out and or against Bawumia and the entire npp government. Am part but I just want us to go to opposition to restructure the party well.
