
The Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame has initiated moves to curb what he terms use of tactics to unduly delay criminal trials.
According to him, the criminal Procedure Act, Act 30 will be reviewed in a manner as to aid in a real expeditious determination of summary trials.
Speaking after inauguration of the Governing Board of the Law Reform Commission, Godfred Dame argued the tendency of long delays in criminal trials is not only unhealthy but defeatist of constitutional provision of fair hearing within a reasonable time in article 19(1).
