Assemblies get GHC10,000 each for Ghana’s 60th anniversary

Each of the metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies has received an amount of GHC10,000 as support from government to support their activities in marking Ghana’s 60th independence. The transfer of the amount to the assemblies followed a request made by the Finance Ministry on Thursday, March 2, 2017. “The Controller and Accountant General wishes to inform all metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies that an amount of GHC10,000.00 each has been transferred into the Sub Consolidated Fund account of the assemblies” the Controller and Accountant General announced on Thursday. A memo signed by the Controller, Seidu Tokomah to heads of the assemblies said the amount is part forms part of the outstanding disbursement of the District Assemblies Common Fund.
