Anyidoho remembers his release from BNI, now NIB cells on Akufo-Addo’s Birthday and wishes him happy occasion

A former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Ahyidoho, has said he was released from the cells of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), now National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s birthday exactly four years ago.

Koku was caged and charged with treason after a press conference organized by the Inter-Party Coalition for National Sovereignty at the International Press Centre in Accra on March 26 2018.

He was alleged to have made remarks that there would be a social revolution during the tenure of President Nana Akufo-Addo.

He was released on March 29 which fell on President Akufo-Addo’s Birthday.

Wishing Mr Akufo-Addo a Happy birthday celebration on March 29, 2022, Mr Anyidoho said ” in a tweet that “Exactly 4 years ago today, I was released from a 48hr solitary confinement in BNI Cells for supposedly plotting treason against the Republic of Ghana.

“When I was released, I heard it was the birthday of the President. Surely, I shall forever remember 29th March. Happy birthday Mr. President.”
