Another fake kidnapping in T’di; police arrest three

The Takoradi Divisional Police Command of the Ghana Police Service has arrested three persons for faking a kidnap in the Western Region capital.

Two of the arrested are alleged to have been complicit in Joana Krah’s falsification of a kidnap aimed at taking GH¢5,000 from her adopted father.

This comes weeks after a pregnant woman faked a kidnap on her, having made residents believe she has been pregnant for nine months.

A statement issued by the police on Monday, October 25 said the three will be processed for court.

They are chief architect Joana Krah, 29, and her accomplices Susanna Awortwe, 27, and Francis Eshun, 27.

“When Joana became aware that her adopted father had reported to the Police and an extensive search had commenced to find her, she showed up at the Takoradi Central Police Station, Saturday, October 23, to confess of only joking with her adopted father shat she was kidnapped,” the police said in their statement.

The public has, consequently, been advised to desist from the act of faking kidnapping for monetary gains.

The police described the act as criminal.

“Such perpetrators will be dealt with in accordance with the laws of the state,” the police warned.
