Farouk Aliu Mahama, son of late former Vice President of Ghana, Alhaji Aliu Mahama, has won the parliamentary seat in Yendi on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He polled 40,624 votes.
His main contender, Alhassan Abdul Fatawu of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), garnered 24,755 votes.
The polls closed at 5:00pm on Monday, December 7.
