President Akufo Addo’s ministerial nominees for Trade and Industry, Local Government and Rural Development, Agriculture and Energy would be facing the vetting committee of parliament on Monday January 23, 2017.
The next four nominees are Alan K. Kyerematen (Trade & Industry), Hajia Alima Mahama (Local Government), Dr. Afriyie Akoto (Agriculture) and Boakye Agyarko (Energy) who are coming after the likes of the Finance Minister nominee, Attorney General nominee, Defense Minister nominee, Security Minister nominee amongst others.
The vetting process started on Friday January 20, continued on Saturday January 21 and continues today Monday January 23.
Some members of the minority side of the vetting committee have raised concerns about the seeming protection and shielding of the nominees by the chairman of the committee and his deputy from questions posed. But this has been downplayed by the majority side and the chair.
President Akufo Addo has presented a 36 man list to parliament for various ministerial positions who would be vetted for onward approval.
