President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has nominated Samuel Nuertey Ayertey to replace Joseph Tetteh, who resigned his post as Deputy Eastern Region Minister.

The Member of Parliament for Upper Manya Krobo, Joseph Tetteh, tendered in a resignation letter which the president, Mr Akufo-Addo, accepted with regret.

This comes after earlier reports that the MP had resigned.

A letter 3news.com sighted in parts cites the sacking of former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko, who is also from Kroboland in the Eastern Region, as one of the reasons for Mr Tetteh’s decision to resign his post.

But he later dismissed the reports insisting he was still at post.

“I am currently driving from my constituency to Accra. That letter being circulated is not true. I did not write any resignation letter to the Presidency. I am still at post,” he had said.

Following the nomination of Mr. Ayertey, the President is hopeful that Parliament will expedite the vetting of the new Deputy Minister-designate for the Eastern Region, so he can assume office as quickly as possible.
