Akufo-Addo leaves for the UK

Leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Friday, July 10 left Accra for the United Kingdom, with his wife, Rebecca.

Nana Addo will be away for three weeks, a statement from his office says.

This will be the first foreign travel of Nana Addo after aborting a European tour upon news of the killing of NPP’s Upper East Region Chairman, Adams Mahama.

“Whilst in the UK, Nana Akufo-Addo is scheduled to hold meetings with members of the NPP-UK branch, including a meeting of branch and chapter executives on 11th July; the inauguration of the Northampton Chapter of the branch on 18th July; and attending a branch general meeting on 26th July,” said the statement signed by Nana Addo’s Press Secretary, Eugene Arhin.

It added: “In addition to holding scheduled meetings during the period, Nana Akufo-Addo will also visit some education institutions in England, and interact with members of the Ghanaian community in the UK.”

Nana Addo will also be accompanied by his Executive Assistant, Saratu Atta.

He is due home on Friday, July 31.
