President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed revulsion at the gruesome murder of 90-year-old Denteh Akua at Kafaba in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region. He is hopeful the quick response of the police will lead to the rapid administration of justice in the matter. He said such an act should not happen again. “I will make an appropriate contribution to the Akua Denteh Foundation to express my own revulsion at the awful, tragic act that has occurred in this region.” President Akufo-Addo made these remarks when he commissioned a water project at Yapei in the Savannah Region. The regional minister, Adam Salifu Braimah, revealed the Regional Coordinating Council has set up an Akua Denteh Foundation in honour of the deceased, who was gruesomely lynched last Thursday. A minute silent was observed in her honour at the event. “Mr. President, on this auspicious day, Savannah Regional Coordinating Council has set up a ‘Mama Akua Denteh Foundation’ in honour and memory of the slain woman and to say to the world never again.” On measures to get the perpetrators apprehended, the Minister said the police are on the heels of the perpetrators of the crime. He added: “Tremendous progress has been made towards the apprehension and prosecution of these people.” By Christopher Amoako|3news.com|Savannah Region|Ghana]]>
