Akropong Akuapem Presbyterian Church has honoured Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) for its support to the renovation of Aburi Girl Senior High School’s Assembly Hall.
The honour was conferred on the Company during the Church’s centenary celebration on Sunday, July 17.
The centenary celebration of the church attracted the second gentleman of the land, Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the top leader of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Moderator Rt Rev. Prof. J.O.Y Mante, government officials, politicians, among others.
In appreciation for the church’s 100th anniversary celebration, a funding by the church was raised to build a primary school in the Ayensuano Constituency.
Ghana Gas’s Assistant Project Manager Anyimah Edomgbole and Manager at the Administrative Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Stephen Daama, received the award on behalf of the Company.
During the service, the Vice President, who enjoys a highly warm relationship with the leadership of the clergy across all denominations in Ghana, indicated that as Ghanaians, “we all have every good reason to be thankful to God especially for the 100th anniversary celebration for how far He has brought us”, urging all citizens to use the festive period to reaffirm their faith, hope and belief in God and also help build a school to the glory of the Lord.
“The impact of the Presbyterian Church for the matter the Akuapem for the development of Ghana, therefore, in all, encompasses several areas of national lands.”
The Vice President lauded the excellent dedication and educational discipline delivered by the Presbyterian Church and grounded on a high moral standards and training.
Ghana Gas will continue to provide assistance to deprived area/community, the Company affirmed.
