Ajet Nassam ordered to appear Thursday

One of the High Court judges implicated in the Anas’ exposé and subsequently suspended, John Ajet Nassam, has been ordered to appear before the committee investigating bribery and corruption allegations against him, on Thursday, October 22.

Justice Ajet Nassam has not appeared before the committee since a prima facie case of misconduct was established against him.

Justice Ajet Nassam is among the 12 high court judges cited by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas in his petition to President John Dramani Mahama.

In a public notice published in the Daily Graphic newspaper, the committee says it will proceed with its work on Thursday if Justice Nassam fails to appear by 10:00 am.

“You are entitled to call witnesses,” the notice on Wednesday said. “You are also entitled to be represented by a lawyer.”

Justice Ajet Nassam in the documentary film premiered on September 22 was seen taking a GH¢16,000 bribe to get a hardened criminal freed.

He also received a “big brown goat” in addition.
